Hello, I’m Javiera, a birth and postpartum doula serving families in Sarnia, On.

Hi, I'm Javiera Aviles-Saez

... but most people call me Javi. I am the face behind Mother&Sol, a mother to a 3 year old toddler, birth and postpartum doula, fertility support specialist, childbirth educator, lactation educator, and pregnancy and infant loss advocate.

Through my journey as a birthworker, I have poured myself into helping birthing persons have positive and RADIANT birthing experiences by teaching evidence-based prenatal classes, supporting families in the labour room at the hospital and at home, and holding space for the diverse experiences of early parenthood. I'm passionate about creating safe, inclusive and supportive spaces for families to learn about fertility, childbirth, lactation and parenting.

I am committed to anti-racist, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, affirming birthwork.

I believe that...

All pregnant, birthing and postpartum individuals/families deserve support and access to education through their unique experiences.

Prenatal education needs to be evidence-based, inclusive and accessible to all.

There is no right way to give birth, as childbirth is the most intense experience in a parent's lifetime and I feel that you should be able to do what works for you and feel supported while doing so. You deserve to feel supported, informed and respected through your own unique experience.

Breast IS NOT breast! Even though I am a breastfeeding mother, I believe that you know what is best for your baby and your own personal situation. Informed is best! Supported is best!

Abortion access is a human right! Mother&sol is a safe space to get abortion support and referrals to resources.

I believe any choice made with love is the right choice for you.

I am the mother of a 3 year old toddler, Sol. He is the absolute light of my life. I had a radiant homebirth after a difficult pregnancy and have breastfed him exclusively from birth (and still do at 3 years old! It works for us and it has so many benefits!). I loved babywearing as a new mom, and we enjoy toddler yoga together now that he is no longer little. After my birth, I struggled with postpartum depression and anxiety, I lacked a village and support, and a large part of my first year as a mother is a blur of overwhelm and deep depression. In my healing journey, I discover doula support and it felt like a calling.
